Largest Webmaster Community Bans Googlebot And Other Search Engines

Every webmaster dreams of having tons of pages indexed in Google and other search engines. The thought of receiving millions of visitors each month is enough to make any site owner shiver with joy. Why then did Webmaster World, the nets largest community for webmasters, close the doors to all robots…including Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft?

In a bold move to end the madness of “rogue bots”, Brett Tabke, has dis-allowed all robots from spidering his massive site.

“Seeing what effect it will have on unauthorized bots. We spend 5-8hrs a week here fighting them. It is the biggest problem we have ever faced.”

Webmaster World has long been the premier destination for webmasters seeking knowledge about all aspects of site development. For many users, the best way to find things around Webmaster World is via Google search. The internal search is so terrible, members are allowed to enter a custom Google search code on the top of each page.

Being that Brett’s site is so established, it will be interesting to see this play out. Will his site be affected by the eventual downfall in search traffic? Does the site have enough critical mass to sustain traffic levels and growth without the major search engines?

These are all interesting questions that we should ask ourselves. Many webmasters rely completely on the 3 major search engines to provide traffic.

Webmaster World is currently testing a solution for the internal site search in an effort to combat user’s reliance on external search.

I’m excited to watch this story unfold. The largest webmaster community is the net’s guinea pig for this extremely bold move.

Seo Creations For Webmaster To Get First

Most webmasters would want to achieve the first ranking of the Google’s displayed results. However, most of them are not that patient in finding the best keywords for optimization. Because of this, the problems with organic search engine optimization as well as pay per click usually arise.

Suppose that a webmaster would want to sell ovens on his or her website, he or she would have an idea of optimizing the website by using the keywords of “furnace” or “oven”. This is a not a good idea to do since keywords that are too obvious to use in search will only cost a lot of money and time without finding the right or exact website.

Losing Money is Possible with Every Keyword

According to a recent study of pay per click, it is that profitable to have the first position in the ranking of search engines for one or two keywords. The positions that can be profitable and with paid results are the ones with short keywords on the fifth and sixth positions. Meanwhile for those keywords that consisted of three words are profitable when the websites on the ranking results are positioned on the second or third ranking.

Reasons Why People Lose Money while Bidding for the First Position

Keywords that may consist of one or two words are basically general. In this way, most of the companies might think that their websites can be relevant to these keywords. Some companies may even bid on the keywords and sometimes become very expensive as well when purchased.

General keywords are also one of the reasons why people can be able to lose money for the first position in ranking results. It is because these keywords do not attract much of its targeted audiences. Searches using the word “oven” would often display results of recipes, industrial ovens and many other related articles.

Keywords are very expensive to purchase. Most of the cheap and short keywords are not the usual targeted used by searchers. With this reason, the advantage return of investment or revenue would be very difficult. It would be best purchase keywords that consist of three or more keywords related to the targeted results. In this way, the competition would be lesser. Some of the best examples of these keywords are “smith oven model xp356” and “buy an oven”. Nevertheless, there are some companies that use multiple keywords but some would prefer buying services or goods instead of purchasing expensive multiple keywords for their websites.

How the keywords do are applied to the results of the organic search engine?

If you don’t have the money to pay for every click on your website, it would take some work and time to be listed on the top 10 results of the organic search engines. You should know that the competition between the one or two keywords is quite higher as compared to the keywords with specific label of words. These keywords can deliver results to targeted visitors of the website. For good return of investment or revenue, it is better to focus on multiple word keywords. Aside from the investment, it is assured that these keywords can deliver much better results of visitors to the websites as well as easy way of getting high rankings.

Webmaster Forums—solving Coding, Seo, Programming And Link Building Issues

Social forums have seen a mushroom growth recently after the advent of social websites. These forums may be professional, technical, sports related, political etc where people argue and share thoughts, but in a controlled manner. Similarly a webmaster forum is a technical forum for webmasters who design and develop websites (and content) and handle many areas related to that.

A webmaster forum is basically a website which appears social with its interactive layout, discussion and helping trends. However, it is more towards the professional side in the sense that it is not formed to strike friendships, but to build discussion upon constructive points related to web mastery. It’s not compulsory that you be a guru to embark upon this platform, infact if you are a beginner you can get some pretty workable advice , but you need to be aware of not presenting yourself as a newbie in the ‘netiquette’ department of this forum.

The important thing is that it pays to be a good learner as well as a good sport. You should first read the guidelines of the forum, looking over most discussions and then give a relevant comment on one of your interest. Don’t play around when people are already engaged in a serious discussion and most importantly do not start your own query in the middle of another- that’s called ‘hijacking’ a discussion and is considered pretty offensive on all help forums. If you follow the above points, you can surely get some good and timely advice on all your current and upcoming problems like web hosting, internet marketing, Java script, PHP, HTML, CSS etc. You can start your own discussions on web hosting, web designing, graphic designing, server hosting and how to get it for your site, internet marketing, content management, SEO campaign, coding, backlink techniques etc.

Each webmaster forum has been designed to serve the intricacies of web mastery and therefore all topics are separated in different discussions. On a good webmaster forum, you are sure to find forum, sub forums, FAQs (frequently asked questions regarding persistent issues), tutorials, discussion threads (ofcourse) and even blog. The tutorials are wonderful in leading you to a step by step written or video guide for learning things like Photoshop, website designing, link building, programming (JavaScript, PHP, and Perl etc), SEO journals and many more.

Experts will always be ready to lend you a gold coin if you stick around and pay respect to their advice. Even if you want to make money online and want to know which scheme is actually productive you can go here and talk about them. Discuss about search engines (Google, Bing and Yahoo) and their searching comparisons; web browsers like (Internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome) their new versions with compatibility problems and ofcourse the all commanding Windows updates that become hot topic as soon as something comes out in the market or even before its release.

If you are already a company offering product or services, you may like to go to the sub forums and drop your links there as well as attractive product info to drive traffic and prospective customers to your website. Link dropping is not allowed feely to prevent spamming. You can always flag, report or tag a person or discussion on webmaster forums.

Seo – Internet Marketing Services And Sales

The pros know that getting sales is much more than just driving traffic to a site. There’s more to be done. After knowing what to do getting sales will be a simple task.

Most of us know how to get visits to our affiliate pages and/or websites. But what then? How many leave without buying? Have a look at your visitor vs. sales ratio. Even if you have sales, it can be multiplied to much more.

Really, why are they not buying? The answer isn’t in what you are selling or the price isn’t right. People will gladly pay top dollar for what they want. They simply need to want it. You can help them with that. Read on….

It is your job to help them want it. It’s instict to give a description of the product or service you’re selling. Let’s build on that a little….. While you are describing your product or service, you should be drawing your customer in. Getting them to want your product. There’s several ways to do this.

My favorite is the “don’t follow the herd”. Quite simply this is showing the customer that they are smart enough to act on the oppurtunity that is right in front of them, while the rest of the “herd” just can’t see it. They will buy from you because they don’t want to be that other guy in the herd.

Moving along you see for example, you’re not that other guy in the herd. You’re actually taking a few minutes here to improve your conversion rate. Did you catch that? Glad you’re with me here.

Another way is the “preview”. Have you seen a preview and when you go see the movie, the entire movie could’ve been wrapped up in just the preview? It’s like you knew what the entire movie was about all the way to the end! Why do they do that? Well, you went to see the movie that’s why.

Contradictory to the preview is the “there’s always more” method. Giving an enticing “sample” but not giving it all away. People like to believe there’s always more. This method is highly effective when you have a product or service with many features. Simply highlight the strong points with the notion that there’s more.

As far as whether to use a full preview or there’s always more really depends on what you are selling. Just take a good look at it and decide what’s best. Should we tell them all about it or wet thier tongues getting them to want more. The product will tell you.

Finally, get them to say yes, yes, yes. Throughout your sales copy, email ad, website or where ever you are presenting your product or service. Get them to say yes. Using quick questions like “right?” “doesn’t that make sense?” and “wouldn’t you like that?” for example will have them saying yes all through your message. And by the time you ask “are you ready to buy?” the answer is already YES!

Simply getting prospects by the boatload is short of the goldmine. Talk to your customers. They want to buy. You can help them want to buy.
